How It Works

This tool detects your current device characteristics and lets you simulate a visitor dashboard showing mobile vs desktop vs tablet breakdown. The generated tracking snippet can be added to any website to collect real device usage data.

  • Touch + pointer — checks navigator.maxTouchPoints and the CSS pointer: coarse media query to identify touch devices
  • Screen size — uses screen.width thresholds: under 768px is mobile, 768-1024px is tablet, above 1024px is desktop
  • User agent — pattern matching for known mobile and tablet identifiers as a secondary signal
  • Pixel ratio — devicePixelRatio provides additional context on display density
